Rives heavyweight paper, cloth and marbled paper covered boards, American Uncial typeface, Hahnemühle Bugra endpapers. 4” x 6.5” 16 pages. Edition of twelve.
A small chapbook version of the classic fairytale collected by the Grimm Brothers and originally published in 1812 as "Von dem Mäuschen, Vögelchen und der Bratwurst," in the Kinder- und Hausmärchen gesammelt by the Brothers Grimm. This English translation is printed in Victor Hammer’s American Uncial typeface, designed by Victor Hammer between 1943 and 1953. American Uncial is often considered to be a specialty typeface for Irish poetry or historical religious texts. This project was conceived as a way to show its secular and profane side. This fairytale reads as both traditional and contemporary, much like American Uncial.
