Mind Your Peas… (an Alphabet Book)

I designed and created this book as an entry in Mary Rezny’s EcoBook Challenge. All materials except for the thread were recycled or repurposed materials found at the King Library Press, Lexington, Ky. The letter stencils were cut with an old machine the KLP had inherited from another department. The pages were cut from proof paper that had been used three or four times, creating an interesting collage of words and images. Wasabi peas were and continue to be a popular snack at the KLP and we use the empty cans to hold all sorts of oddments.
